The Canonical Flux Quantization and IQHE
نویسنده
چکیده
It is shown that the canonical flux quantization, which is described by the usual commutator postulate or by its equivalent uncertainty relation on the related phase space, can result in the quantization of Hall-measures. Further it is shown that the polarization of this phase space, which is necessary for its quantization, results in the vanishing of longitudinal components of resistivity and conductivity.

A ug 1 99 4 Integer Quantum Hall Effect for Lattice Fermions
A two-dimensional lattice model for non-interacting fermions in a magnetic field with half a flux quantum per plaquette and N levels per site is considered. This is a model which exhibits the Integer Quantum Hall Effect (IQHE) in the presence of disorder. It presents an alternative to the continuous picture for the IQHE with Landau levels. The large N limit can be solved: two Hall transitions a...

The canonical quantization of flux is performed. It is shown that according to the canonical flux quantization there must be a new uncertainty relation: e∆A m .∆x m ≥ ¯ h where A m and ∆x m ≥ l B are the electromagnetic gauge potential, the position uncertainty and the magnetic length, respectively. Other arguments in favour of this uncertainty relation are also discussed.
متن کاملScaling in the Integer Quantum Hall Effect: interactions and low magnetic fields
Recent developments in the scaling theory of the integer quantum Hall effect are discussed. In particular, the influence of electron-electron interactions on the critical behavior are studied. It is further argued that recent experiments on the disappearance of the quantum Hall effect at low magnetic fields support rather than disprove the scaling theory , when interpreted properly. While the r...
متن کاملThe Nonperiodic Anyon Model and the Fractional Quantum Hall Effect
The lowest-Landau-level anyon model becomes nonperiodic in the statistics parameter when the finite size of the attached flux tubes is taken into account. The finite-size effects cause the inverse proportional relation between the critical filling factor and the statistics parameter to be nonperiodically continued in the screening regime, where the fluxes are anti-parallel to the external magne...
متن کاملTopological Field Theory and Quantum Holonomy Representations of Motion Groups
Canonical quantization of abelian BF -type topological field theory coupled to extended sources on generic d-dimensional manifolds and with curved line bundles is studied. Sheaf cohomology is used to construct the appropriate topological extension of the action and the topological flux quantization conditions, in terms of the Čech cohomology of the underlying spatial manifold, as required for t...
